About WSC Beijing Alpacas
Greetings scholars! The fact that you are reading this page means that you have signed up for WSC or you are interested to find out! Well, WSC has been one of the coolest and most enriching experiences for the members of our team. We along with other like-minded (like-appetite) teams have competed in WSC China for the last two years. Along the way, we learned how to research, write, study, debate, stay motivated, and most of all build solid friendships. To sum it up, it has been rewarding experience and we want to help you reach your WSC goals.
This year, WSC will be returning to normal with off-line competitions and a "brand new topic"! This means, we gotta all start from scratch and learn everything based on the WSC syllabus. There is no easy way to get the big trophies, except study and throw it all in. But, along the way, let us help you by sharing our notes and insights. So, check back in with us every week and see our updated resources. Good luck alpaca enthusiasts! See you at TOC this summer!

I am an American Chinese middle schooler in Beijing who loves art & social studies. Since 4th grade, I have competed in WSC each year, and I'm most proud of building this amazing community. I have achieved Jac Khor + Champion Scholar (Aug 2024), Asimov Award (Aug 2022) and Jac Khor + Champion Scholar (May 2023 & May 2024).

WSC is fun! My advice for new scholars is to make a mindmap and do mock debates with your team. Hard work absolutely pays off, so don't give up. Super happy for being awarded #1 scholar (Jac Khor) at the Xiamen Global Round (2023).

Greetings fellow scholars, I'm just a teenager who likes drums, philosophy, and literature - oh yes and alpaca memes. WSC has been a rollercoaster with downs (Xiamen) and ups (getting #2 Champion Scholar - Dec 2022) and getting #5 champion scholar (May 2024).

Hi, I am your enthusiastic 9th grader with dyslexia. Like many scholars, I struggled to remember notes and do well in writing and debate, but overtime, I was able to overcome those challenges with dedication. My favorite WSC subject is History. I'm proud of getting #2 at the Dalian Global Round 2024 and #5 in Scholar's Bowl @ TOC 2023!

WSC is a fantastic competition that gives you a chance to make new friends, have fun and gain knowledge. I'm a big fan of the science and art curriculum. This unique experience taught me a lot about pop culture, history and most importantly, team work. Debates are when you test your knowledge, logic and collaboration.

I love WSC because it is interdisciplinary and my favorite subject is Science & Special Area. I am the community editor in charge of updating our quizzes to help scholars review all the nitty gritty details. My advice for young Cria scholars is to be confident and structured during debate. At the Dalian Global Round I was #11 Champion Scholar and #8 team!
